NEW WARNING
Watson Pharmaceuticals is recalling one lot of 100-count bottles of propafenone hydrochloride 225 mg that was sold in the United States and shipped between October 15, 2008 and November 26, 2008. Lot Number 112680A, with an expiration date of July 31, 2010, is being recalled because some of the tablets may contain higher levels of the drug's active ingredient than specified. No other lots were affected.
   Propafenone is indicated for the treatment of cardiac arrhythmias and has a narrow therapeutic index. Patients may experience serious adverse effects, such as arrhythmias and hypotension, with small dose variations. Anyone who has propafenone 225 mg tablets should call 888-352-9616, Monday through Friday between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. EDT for instructions on identifying and returning the product.
